BJP, Congress: Please no ‘ullu banaving’

There is something politically incorrect happening in the State. It is something that cannot be digested so easily by Goans. Both the political parties – Congress, BJP are busy in fooling around in a big way.
The political `tamasha’ unleashed by BJP and Congress over various issues leaves everyone to wonder whom to trust. Congress Goa Chief Luizinho Faleiro’s outburst against Terekhol Golf Course project, which was given the land by his own party cannot be understood. Similarly, the congress party whose former state home minister Ravi Naik was embroiled in the narcotics related controversy is now claiming to be enemy of drugs.
And the party leaders say it so much with confidence that execept themselves no one is convinced about them.
This is not the political lie that we have been witnessing. BJP which promised special status to Goa is similarly acting very funny. The constant statements by BJP leaders are not just fooling people but also are making everyone realize that they made a mistake by voting for the BJP.
Goa’s political scene is always ruled by lies and arrogance. But the kind of arrogance and lie that has been perpetrated by BJP is something unbelievable.
The assurances of then chief minister Manohar Parrikar are not being honoured by current government. The assurance of keeping petrol prices under control, report card of various ministers and regional plan in time, all have fallen flat.
Current Chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar has refused to prepare any report card of the ministers. He spoke about the liberty to ministers to perform in their own way; and also restricts itself to his own departments.
What was shocking is that Parrikar himself in the role of union defence minister now has told the media persons lately that he is not responsible for report card of the ministers.
Parrikar had even given a fake deadline on special status that too on the floor of the house. He had said that the Parliament needs to take a resolution on this issue.
The then Goa Chief Minister is now most important part of union cabinet. Ideally he can do it. He can have consensus on the issue. But why is the BJP leaders including its President Amit Shah and union minister Nitin Gadkari themselves are backtracking on the statement of his party colleague.

If BJP has to do such U turns and go back on the promises made by Parrikar during elections, then they should go for fresh mandate. The people who voted for them are feeling cheated.
Congress and BJP are busy in ‘ullu banaving’ to Goan electorate.  With only one and half year left for the next polls, I am wondering what would be election manifesto of BJP. They will have to design a completely new manifesto as they have failed the earlier document.
Also I want to see how much the Congress party will keep up its promise of keeping away the old faces and get a new one.
